The Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has officially been presented with the European Golden Shoe award for finishing the 2010-11 season as the top scorer in all of Europe. Ronaldo finished his season in Spain's La Liga with a stunning total of 40 goals! This is not the first time Cristiano has been awarded with the Golden Shoe, he previously won the prestigous award in 2008 with Manchester United scoring a total of 31 goals. Ronaldo was handed the award at Madrid's Intercontinental Hotel by Portugal legend Eusebio and Real Madrid honorary president Alfredo Di Stefano. Although Ronaldo was content with winning the award, he remarked that he would have been happier to see his club side lift the biggest trophie in the game than to continue winning individual accolades. Quoting "I would trade this award right now for the Champions League or La Liga," he said. "You can only win individual awards because the team help you." Showing that he is a man of great honor and respect inknowing that the game of soccer is a team effort and that without the team he would not be recieving the trophy.
